This past trading week, the two large-cap focused indexes tracked in this section both posted recoveries leading up to Good Friday, while the TSX Venture Composite Index fell to multi-month lows. The S&P TSX Venture Composite Index decreased by another 21.13 points this week, closing at 796.67 on Thursday. On Wednesday, the TSX Venture Composite fell to less than 782 points for the first time since early December 2017. Canada’s most watched stock index, the S&P TSX Composite, gained back 143.55 combined points during the holiday-shortened week. The TSX Composite closed on Thursday at 15,367.29 points. Down in the United States, the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 569.91 points on the week, including a 669 point gain on Monday, and closed out the 4-day week at 24,103.11 points.
