Another strong day. Traded 130K shares ($1.2 million worth - that is a big volume day for FTP) and inched up to $9.50 in advance of the earnings announcement tomorrow. Looks like the market is anticipating strong numbers.

I first learned about Fortress Paper from Doren at QIS. I believe FTP also attended his last Small-cap Conference so some other should be familiar with the company already. The stock seems to be gaining strength over the past couple of days in anticipation fo the Q1 quarterly financials which are scheduled to be released on Tuesday. Here is a quick snapshot of the financials for the latest year end: Cash & Equivallents on Hand: $45 million Positive Working Capital: $47 million Limited intangible assets relative to other assets Long term debt $23.8 million - appears manageable
(in thousands of dollars, except per-share amounts)
                   2007 year Q4 2007 Q3 2007

Sales $ 145,294 $ 37,537 $ 34,065
Operating income 10,598 3,380 1,406
EBITDA 13,611 4,255 2,196
EBITDA per share 1.96 0.42 0.22
Net income 5,284 2,279 211
Basic/diluted EPS $ 0.76 $ 0.22 $ 0.02

At just over 10 times trailing Q4 earnings, the year-over-year sales growth of 173% here looks interesting (fiscal 2006 revenues were $53.2 million). I was a little late pulling the trigger on this one but I got an initial partial position a few weeks ago at $8.50 and a little more today at $9.07. I will post some more DD as I complete more analysis. Feel free to share what you have found if you follow FTP. Thanks.
