Trevali TV.to C$1

TV.to +.01 to C$1.19 up about 20% from when I first posted in January 2015. Trevali is due to open their second multi metal base metal mine in Canada in Q2. Trevali is one of the few pure plays on zinc and zinc is the one base metal that appears to have solid fundamentals to increase in price over the near to medium term.
Zinc inventories have been dropping for several years. There are few pure zinc mines. Zinc is typically a byproduct of precious metals or other base metal mines. There are two big zinc mines that are closing towards the end of 2015, further reducing supplies.
Zinc inventories in LME warehouses peaked at 1.2 million tons in 2013. Current inventories are around 470,000 tons and falling.

Bought some trevali this morning at C$1. Trevali has one operating mine and is preparing to start a second mine this year. The reason for investing in TV is their Zinc emphasis. Zinc is one of the few metals that appears to be heading for a supply shortage in the next few years. Some of the biggest zinc mines in the world are running out of ore. Zinc is not in short supply but as some of the mines go offline, inventories should continue to runoff and support the price.
