Canuc Resources to drill under GoldStar mine
2010-03-08 09:45 MT - News Release
Mr. Ken Murton reports
CANUC RESOURCES CORPORATION COMMENCES DRILLING AT NAMBIJA
Canuc Resources Corp. is to commence exploratory drilling below the company's previously producing GoldStar mine. This is in an area that has been proposed as a possible extension of the GoldStar mineralization, where Canuc had previously intersected 0.69 oz. Au/ton over four meters as reported in the Company's 1996 annual report. The GoldStar as well as the adjoining El Playon, El Arco and Upper Arco orebodies are believed to be significant mineralized structures with great potential for future exploration.
In addition, Canuc intends to continue with its previous plans of target definition on several areas of the property with the objective of starting a 3,000 meter diamond drilling program this Spring. The diamond drilling will focus on testing the GoldStar, El Playon, El Arco and the El Tierrero mineralized zones at depth. In particular, emphasis will be placed on the El Tierrero structure where Placer Dome Inc. intersected a two meter (7.0 ft) section which assayed 147 grams (4.72 oz.) of gold to the ton as reported in Canuc's 1997 annual report.
Canuc President and CEO Hub Mockler stated "This is an exciting time for the Company as we are now restarting exploration initiatives on the Nambija project in Ecuador. We have sufficient financing to support a substantial diamond drilling and exploration program and we look forward to reporting results as they become available."
The exploration program at Nambija is being carried out under the supervision of Gary Lohman, P. Geo., a Qualified Person as defined under the terms of National Instrument 43-101.
