Island Pharmaceuticals Limited is an Australia-based drug repurposing company. The Company is focused on areas of unmet need for antiviral therapeutics to address infectious diseases. Its lead asset is ISLA-101, a drug with a safety profile being repurposed for the prevention and treatment of dengue fever and other mosquito (or vector) borne diseases. ISLA-101 has been shown to have activity against all four strains of dengue virus as well as other flaviviruses such as Zika virus, West Nile virus, and Yellow Fever virus, as well as Chikungunya virus. While ISLA-101 is an oral formulation, the Company is also considering alternative formulations, including a long-acting oral formulation and intravenous formulations for severe dengue infections. The Company operates a single segment, being research and development activities principally in the geographic regions of Australia and the United States. Its subsidiary is Isla Pharmaceuticals Inc.
